SSDP International works with young people worldwide. Safeguarding, protecting people from harm, exploitation and abuse, is central to how we operate.
Our commitment
Everyone who represents SSDP International, staff, board, chapter leaders and volunteers, is expected to uphold the safety, dignity and rights of young people and people who use drugs.
Youth-first standards
- Person-first, non-stigmatising language at all times.
- Age-appropriate content and clear signposting of adult topics.
- Informed consent for stories, photos and quotes.
- Chapter Code of Conduct with clear reporting routes.
Reporting a concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a person, chapter or programme linked to SSDP International, email info@intl.ssdp.org. Reports are treated confidentially and reviewed by our Safeguarding Lead.
In an emergency
Safeguarding reports do not replace emergency services. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then let us know so we can support.
