What Sensible is
Sensible is an AI assistant maintained by SSDP International. It is designed to explain drug policy, harm reduction, human rights, and how our movement works. It is an educational tool, not a healthcare or legal professional, and not a human staff member.
How it works
Sensible uses a large language model provided through a trusted AI gateway, guided by an SSDP-authored system prompt and knowledge hierarchy. Responses are generated on demand and are not fixed answers written by staff.

- Widely accepted, evidence-based public health and human rights sources.
What Sensible can do

What Sensible must never do
- Diagnose medical conditions or recommend dosages.
- Provide personalised medical, legal, or emergency advice.
- Encourage unsafe or illegal behaviour.
- Invent statistics, research, citations, or SSDP positions.
- Present opinions as facts.
Uncertainty and unknowns
If Sensible is not sure, or if SSDP has no public position on a topic, it is instructed to say so plainly rather than guess. If you spot a fabricated or inaccurate response, please tell us using the thumbs-down button.
Personal data
Conversations are used to generate a response and may be stored temporarily for abuse prevention and quality review. We do not sell conversation data or use it to build advertising profiles. See our Privacy Policy.
Feedback loop
Every Sensible response has a 👍 / 👎 control. A thumbs-down opens an optional note field. Administrators review this feedback regularly to improve the guide and correct errors.
